WOJTEK SÓWKA - music artist. For over 20 years Wojtek Sowka has created a wide variety of various ethnic percussion instruments. Wojtek's greatest passion are steel drums (also known as steelpans) - unique musical instruments made of steel oil containers. Wojtek is one of the only craftsmen and tuners of steeldrums in Poland.

In 1992 he brought together STEEL DREAM - the first polish steelband (band playing the steeldrums).

In 1999 UADO TARABAN was created - orchestra which contained twelve enormous barrels (almost 2 meters diameter) helping them win first place at the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin.

Wojtek appeared in several films for TV documentaries - "Music from an oil drum" (1993), "Steel Dreams" (1994), "Rhythm of life" (2008), "Another side of the city" (2010). Together with the team he participated in numerous cultural and artistic events, both at home and abroad.

Wojtek Sówka is currently engaged in building and improvement of instruments, and he is a member of "STEELBAND" and "DRUMS & TRANS".
